“Which is the better office?”

Below is a fax that I just received from a neurosurgeon’s office.  This patient was new and this is a surgical group that I don’t receive any referrals from and don’t have any sort of relationship with.  The fax is a records request and the interesting thing is that the patient has NOT been seen at that office yet.  There is an increasing trend in healthcare showing that many providers are getting past medical reports on patients prior to their first visits.  Scroll down past this fax to continue reading.

Now, there are two things that can be done with this “opportunity.”  The first is to not recognize this as an opportunity and ignore it like most DCs will do.  The second is to be a relevant and visible player in the healthcare community and send your notes.  This is where it gets tricky. What do you notes look like?

Will you send this one?

Or will you send this one?

How your “WORK” is perceived is no different than any artist, craftsman, mechanic or professional.  There are MANY, MANY issues with the first note just from a compliance standpoint alone without going into any other details.  If you want to be trusted in the community as a SERIOUS and VISIBLE professional then you need to decide WHICH IS THE BETTER OFFICE and copy that system.{jcomments on}
